Lydia A. Wangemann Lydia Wangemann, 99, formerly of Sheboygan, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Terrace at St. Francis, Milwaukee, WI Born January 29, 1909 in Sheboygan, Lydia was a daughter of the late Balthazar and Margaret Wirtz. On October 12, 1929, she was united in marriage to Arno H. Wangemann. The couple was married for 46 years before Arno preceded her in death on September 29, 1976. Mrs. Wangemann was a very talented seamstress and had worked for Bill Saak Tailors. Lydia was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Church and as a child had attended their grade school. She loved knitting, crocheted many items, enjoyed needlepoint or anything you could put in her hand. She also made a flag for the Sheboygan Yacht Club that was put up on the South Pole. She is survived by her three children, James (Elzora) Wangemann, William (Joy) Wangemann, Barbara (Robert) Miller; ten grandchildren, Sandy, Sherry, Debbra, David, Garth, Stacy, Kim, Christopher, Laurie and Cindy; fourteen great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Lydia was preceded in death by her daughter Margaret Matzdorf; five brothers, Henry, John, William, Edward and George Wirtz and one sister, Molly Jens. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave. The Rev. Alan Kretschmar, pastor of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery. The family would like to thank the 2nd floor staff at Terrace of St. Francis for the loving care they gave Lydia for the past 4 years and also thank the Wheaton Franciscan Hospice staff for their loving care. A memorial fund has been established in her name for either Grace Lutheran Church 3030 W. Oklahoma Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53215 or St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
