Andrew Scharrer

Andrew Scharrer, 90, formerly of 3111 N. 8th St., died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Morningside Health Center.

Born January 4, 1918, in Sheboygan, Andy was a son of the late John and Frances Trumm Scharrer.

Andy served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army 32 Infantry Division and was stationed in New Guinea, the Southern Philippines and Luzon.

Mr. Scharrer was employed for more than 20 years by the Pabst Brewing Company in various capacities, retiring in 1980. He was previously employed by the Kohler Company and the Vollrath Company.

Andy enjoyed ice skating, roller skating, horseback riding, motor boating, motorcycling, snowmobiling, sports cars, walking and relaxing.

He is survived by his brother Carl Scharrer, Sheboygan; several nieces and nephews, Karlynn Schultz, Beatrice Krepps, Gary Kummerow, Dennis Stoelb, Tom Scharrer, Judy Buechler, Karen Kampmann and his very good friend Carol Schinabeck and her family. He was preceded in death by his son Douglas, three brothers, Ottomar, henry and Walter; two sisters, Loretta Hlinak and Frances Ott and two infant brothers, George and Albert.

Following cremation a graveside service will be held at Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
