Henry M. "Tink" Rilling
Henry M. "Tink" Rilling, 93, of 2626C Crosscreek Dr., formerly of 2028 N. 4th St., died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Sheboygan Senior Community. Born June 6, 1914, in Grafton, WI, Henry was a son of the late Henry and Clara Staab Rilling. Mr. Rilling earned a Bachelor's Degree from University Wisconsin, LaCrosse and a Master's Degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison. On April 3, 1948, he was united in marriage to Jeannette Wilt in Sheboygan. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding Anniversary on April 3. Mr. Rilling served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army as a medic. Henry was employed by the Sheboygan Area School District as a Physical Education Teacher for 35 years, retiring in 1982. During his years as a teacher he also coached Basketball, Football, Tennis and refereed Football, Basketball and Volleyball. He spent one year as a teacher at Eau Clair before coming to Sheboygan. Henry was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. He was also a life member of Sheboygan Elk's Lodge # 299 and their National Foundation. Mr. Rilling was a former member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife Jeannette; one daughter, Nan Rilling, Port Washington, WI; one son, Craig (Therese) Rilling, Franklin, WI; two grandchildren, Charles and Elizabeth Rilling, Franklin, WI; one brother, Donald (Marilyn) Rilling, Port Washington, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Rilling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, N. 21st & Geele Ave. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. The Sheboygan Elk's Lodge # 299 will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday at 6:00 p.m.. Entombment will be in Chapel of Eternal Light Mausoleum. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The family would like to thank Tender Hearts, St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice, Sheboygan Senior Community and Dr. Barnes for the kind and compassionate care they gave Henry.
