Arthur H. Klokow

 

Arthur H. Klokow, 86, of 3122 N. 10th Street, passed away Saturday morning, April 12, 2008 at the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

Born April 17, 1921 in Howards Grove, Arthur was the son of the late Walter and Elona Kircheck Klokow. He attended schools in Plymouth and Howards Grove and was a graduate of Howards Grove High School in 1939. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during W.W.II, serving overseas in the battle of the Bulge. He was a medic in the 94th Division and attained the rank of T3 Sergeant. He was awarded a Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal. On September 21, 1946, he was united in marriage to Elaine Louise Senkbeil at St. John's United Church of Christ.

Arthur worked in the warehouse at Schultz Sav-O Foods for 39 years. He previously worked at Oswald Produce. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. He was a former usher and a member of the building committee.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Neal Ebert, Geneva, IL; and his two grandchildren who were the love of his life, Amanda Lynn and Matthew Arthur Ebert of Geneva, IL; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Norma Grunewald and Gertrude Schiebl.

Funeral services for Arthur will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 13th & Lincoln Avenue. The Rev. Gregory Whelton, pastor, will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2008 in the Greenlawn Memorial Park with full Military Honors.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
