GRIEF PARTNERS is a free educational support group for individuals, families and friends in need of support due to the death of a significant person in their lives. Sponsored by Eastern Wisconsin Regional Cancer Center which consists of five agencies: The Sheboygan Clinic, Sheboygan Regional Oncology Center, Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, Valley View Medical Center and Visiting Nurse Association. EXPERIENCING GRIEF - St. Nicholas Hospital offers an opportunity for people who have experienced the loss of a family member or friend to come together for conversation, sharing and support. This group meets twice each month (the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. and the third Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m.). Preregistration is not necessary. CUP OF HOPE - Grief Support and Informational Group. The group meets the 4th Wednesday of each month from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and is hosted by the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice (920) 467-1800. Everyone is welcome whether you used Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or not. There is no charge for this group.
R.T.S. BEREAVEMENT SERVICES (formerly known as Resolve Through Sharing) is a support program for parents experiencing a pregnancy loss through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or newborn death. Contact: Lifestream Women's Health Center, Diane Schuh, RN, 451-5536
COMPASSIONATE Parents is a self-help support group offering friendship and understanding for parents who have experienced the death of a child. Meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m., United Way Building, 2020 Erie Ave., Sheboygan. YOu don't need to wait until the next meeting to reach out for help. RAINBOW KIDS is a peer support group for children and youth, ages 4-18, who have experienced a significant loss in their family unit due to death, divorce, separation or abandonment. Several 14 week sessions are held throughout the year. Contact Anne Skowlund, Executive Director, 452-2838
YOUTH GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP - Children often experience grief differently than adults. We recognize that each child's and each family's bereavement situation is unique. This group has been established to help children follow their own natural grieving patterns in interaction with peers and trained support personnel. All children who have experienced a loss of a loved one through death are invited to participate. Support groups are comprised of children of different ages, and age appropriate activities are provided. The support group meets for 7 weekly sessions. PROJECT YOUTH offers free support to youth who have lost a family member through death. Support is provided by a therapist experienced in grief work with adolescents who helps teens grieve the loss of a family member and move forward in their lives. Contact: Project Youth, 1337 N. Pregnancy/Infant HALO (Hope After Loss Organization) - is a support program offered for those who suffer a pregnancy loss or newborn death. SUICIDE LOSS SUPPORT GROUP is a free and confidential self-help group open to adults who have experienced the suicide death of a loved one. It is a unique opportunity to share with others who are dealing with a similar grief. The group meets the last Monday of each month, 7-9 p.m. at the United Way Building. WIDOW'S DINING GROUP - A social support group which meets at a different restaurant at 12:30 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month. Look for an announcement in The Sheboygan Press a week before the Sunday meal. The announcement includes a phone number to make the required reservations/cancellations.
