Marie Bohnsack

Marie M. Bohnsack, 89, of 909 Ontario Ave., died Monday at her home.

Born August 21, 1918 in Sheboygan, Marie was a daughter of the late Valentine Henry and Henrietta Schmidt Straus. On January 20, 1945, she was united in marriage to Robert P. Bohnsack at the parsonage of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1995. Robert preceded her in death on April 19, 1996.

Marie served her country during WW II in the United States Marine Corps from 1943-1944 and was discharged as a Corporal. She was a member of Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post 243.

Marie was employed by the H. C. Prange Company for 21 years until her retirement. She was previously employed by the Sheboygan Theater and Electric Sprayit.

Marie was a member of First United Lutheran Church. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, was very active at Sheboygan Elk's Lodge. She was a member of the Shoreline Women's Club, and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Char Bohnsack, Fond du Lac, WI; two grandchildren Traci Lynn (Eric) Meske, Fond du Lac, WI and Aaron Robert Bohnsack, Oshkosh, WI; one great granddaughter Harlie Lynn Meske, Fond du Lac, WI; on sister, Antoinette Melanz, Sheboygan; one nephew, Lenny (Linda) Melanz, Sheboygan; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., at First United Lutheran Church, 2401 Kohler Memorial Drive with the Rev. Todd Smith, pastor, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome at the  Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave. on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
